What I took away from Sean Kelly's talk:
When it comes to revising, it is vital to have numerous people look over your work.
When editing your own work, it is helpful to step away from it, and it is also useful to have others give their feedback.
When meeting with a client, it is very important to ask them copious questions in order to get the best understanding of what their needs are and how you are going to meet those needs.
